Tasting Notes

  • Nose - Initially, the nose was subtle, with no strong flavors standing out. However, as I spent more time with it, it began to evolve, with notes of dried fruit—raisins and figs—and a rich nuttiness that reminded me of pecan pie.

  • Palate – Similar to the nose, the palate starts off light, but as it sits, bursts of flavor begin to emerge. Katie and I picked up on notes of toasted nuts, brown sugar, and oak, which create a nice balance and depth.

  • Finish – The finish is mild, with notes of oak and tobacco that are present but not overpowering. There’s very little burn, leaving a smooth, clean aftertaste.

  • Overall – Grow’s on you!

Food Pairing - Pecan Pie or Derby Pie

Nav’s Personal Thoughts – Blood Oath Pact 6 is a blend of 14-year, 8-year, and 7-year-old bourbons, and the Cognac barrel finish adds a whole new level of depth. It’s smooth, complex, and has layers of dried fruit, toasted nuts, and a subtle sweetness that make it stand out. The oak and tobacco finish adds just the right amount of depth without being overpowering. For me, this one really grows on you with each sip. As for pairing, I’d recommend pecan pie or derby pie. The bourbon’s rich, nutty flavors complement these desserts perfectly, making it an indulgent pairing.
