Tasting Notes

  • Nose - I really enjoyed the nose on this one. It delivers all the classic bourbon notes you’d expect—vanilla, caramel, and oak—rounded out with a subtle hint of wheat that adds a nice softness to the aroma.

  • Palate – The palate took me by surprise. Based on the sweet and inviting nose, I was expecting more of those traditional flavors, but instead, the rye spice really takes center stage with notes of citrus.

  • Finish – The finish leans heavily on the oak and leaves a slightly astringent aftertaste. While it’s not my favorite part of the pour, it does leave a lingering impression that showcases its unique profile.

  • Overall – Very Uniqe

Food Pairing - Pork Tenderloin with Citrus Demi-glace.

Nav’s Personal Thoughts – This bourbon is definitely unique. The combination of wheated and rye components creates an interesting experience that keeps you guessing from nose to finish. The classic sweetness on the nose contrasts with the surprising rye spice and citrus on the palate. While it might not be for everyone, it’s worth exploring for those looking to try something a little different. Pair it with pork tenderloin and a citrus demi-glace to complement the bourbon’s sweet and spicy character.
