Tasting Notes

  • Nose - Right off the bat, I got notes of citrus and vanilla on the nose. Katie, on the other hand, picked up chocolate and brown sugar. It’s rare for us to be so far apart on a pour, but this one definitely had us on different pages.

  • Palate – For the palate, we didn’t line up here either. Katie tasted allspice and caramel, while I got more of a citrus and honey vibe. It’s wild how differently we experienced this one. This one definitely kept surprising us.

  • Finish – The finish was the one thing we both agreed on—it’s sweet with an earthy note. We liked it, but it’s honestly hard to explain exactly what we were tasting.

  • Overall – Surprising.

Food Pairing - Chocolate Dipped Orange Slices

Nav’s Personal Thoughts – This has to be one of the most interesting pours we’ve had during the 24 Days of Christmas series. Katie and I couldn’t agree on the nose or palate—our takes were completely different—but that’s what made it fun. Even with our differences, we both agreed it was a solid pour and one we enjoyed. For food pairings, Katie immediately suggested chocolate-dipped orange slices, and I have to say, it’s spot on. The citrus and vanilla notes I got would go perfectly with the bright orange flavor, and the chocolate ties in with Katie’s brown sugar and allspice notes. It’s a great match for this pour and really brings out its unique character.
